The Calgary Roughnecks are headed to the playoffs, thanks to some
late calculation by the National Lacrosse League. And, strangely enough, to the Colorado Mammoth. Colorado’s win over Philadelphia on Sunday was its 9th of the season, meaning there will be at least 1 other NLL team with 9 or more losses this season. And by beating Buffalo on Saturday to improve to 8-3, Calgary ensures it can do no worse than 8-8, which means it’s impossible for the Riggers to have the NLL’s worst record, no matter what happens down the stretch. That’s enough to lock up a playoff spot for the Riggers for the 10th straight season.
