Tim
Campeau graduated from the Coquitlam Junior Adanacs directly onto the
Senior Adanac roster by way of the WLA draft as the Adanacs’ first
pick.
He first played lacrosse in Port Moody at age five and played on the provincial
gold-medal winning Midget AA squad before joining the Coquitlam Intermediate
A’s. In three years of junior lacrosse Tim was team scoring leader
one season and a league Second Team All-Star selection. He enjoyed those
years and says, “Blink and your junior career is gone.” Tim’s
Junior “A” scoring stats for 2004 and 2005 include 39 goals
and 74 assists for 113 points and 99 PiM in 40 games.
He’s had a good WLA start with 14 goals and 22 assists for 36 points
and 10 PiM in 20 games. Tim attends NDNU in San Francisco on a field lacrosse
scholarship. He was named team MVP this past season. He loves “The
City”, especially the bridges, Fisherman’s Wharf, the culture,
the views, Half Moon Bay and taking BART to Berkeley and Palo Alto. Tim
just finished his third year of studies in marketing and management is
an A- student. He says he doesn’t know yet what he wants to do after
school but, heck, that’s a year from now so don’t worry, be
happy.
Other sports interests include hockey and tennis. He enjoys cooking but
he likes eating even more. His culinary specialty is salmon with a different
recipe every time selecting from lemon, soy, hot sauce mustard and some
arcane, mysterious and probably illicit ingredients. His favourite novel
is “The Hobbit”, while his favourite films include “City
of God” (nice!), “Best in Show” (hilarious), “Talladega
Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby” (funnier still) and “Dumb
and Dumber” (sigh). He likes rock music including The Killers. He’s
given up rap music since he “grew up”.
Tim and his girlfriend Shannon have been together for four years. Shannon
just finished studies at Douglas College and was admitted to the Education
program at SFU starting this fall. He said, “She’s my best
friend.”
Tim says he loves watching John Tavares and Josh Sanderson for inspiration.
JT just captained the gold medalist Team Canada at the World Indoor Lacrosse
Championships in Halifax and Shooter is a pretty fair role model as well.
Tim says that the people most influential directly in his lacrosse career
include his Junior coach Blair Wilson and his grandfather, Bob Morrison,
who got him involved in lacrosse.
